One-on-one · founding price for the first 3 clients

The Harmonious Violinist

Six months of one-on-one work on how you play, and how you feel when you do.

I'll help you find a more harmonious way to play: improving your biomechanics and posture, addressing your particular issues, and giving you modifications for your own body and its limitations.

Why one-on-one

Every session is built around you, allowing us to hone the focus on the areas of most benefit to you.

How much we apply the work to your repertoire, and how much of our time goes to the mat or to the violin, we choose together, session by session.

  1. Two sessions a weekOne focused on yoga postures, one on violin integration, so what changes in your body shows up in your playing.
  2. A clear starting pointA filmed assessment of how you stand, move and play, with a written profile and recommendations, and a before-and-after to keep.
  3. A practice of your ownA personalized protocol for your body and your goals, refined as you change.
  4. Nothing waits a weekSend me videos of your asana and your playing between sessions, and I review every one: alignment, adjustments for the poses, and how it comes into the violin.
  5. Beyond the courseMonths of time to go further than the 21 sets: practices and ideas that never fit into the course, chosen for you.
  6. Support that lastsMonthly check-ins for six months after, then one every three months for a year.

Founding price, first 3 clients

$10,000 USD

After the first 3 clients, the price is $15,000 USD.

Six months of one-on-one work, then 18 months of support.

What's a founding price?

It's a special price for my first 3 one-on-one clients: $10,000 USD instead of $15,000. Your work becomes a documented case study, with your say over what's shown, and you give me structured feedback along the way. The founding price is my thank-you for helping me make this work better for everyone after you.

Why it matters

Prehab is far better than rehab.

Getting injured or burning out sets us back far more time, effort and money than investing in body-mind preparation now.

Feedback on how you stand, move and play is the most direct way I know to work on the habits behind it.

Who you'll work with

I used to be extremely rigid.

Playing violin felt constantly uncomfortable.

One of my violin teachers kept smacking me on the shoulder with his bow to remind me to relax it. My neck and shoulders always felt stiff, squeezing the violin, and many technical passages made me anxious.

Then I started practicing yoga, and found that what I was learning on the mat could come into the practice room and address all of it. Today, technical excerpts that once felt totally impossible feel comfortable to play.

In the works since 2013

I'm Samuel Wexler, a classically trained violinist, a multi-instrumentalist, and a 500-hour certified yoga teacher. I first saw how much yoga could do for violinists during my first teacher training, in 2013, and I've been developing this work ever since, including an advanced 300-hour training in India in 2023, to prepare for making this course.

Deep roots

Yehudi Menuhin, one of the greatest violinists of the 20th century, studied yoga with B.K.S. Iyengar, one of the most influential yoga teachers of his era. Menuhin called him

“my best violin teacher.”

They met in India in 1952, and Menuhin brought Iyengar to Europe to teach. He saw yoga as part of his quest “to understand consciously the mechanics of violin playing.” More than seventy years later, this course brings that same meeting of yoga and violin into your daily practice.

A note to top-level performers

You may not need coaching on repertoire or technique, and that's fine. What I can offer is a detailed breakdown of how your playing could feel more harmonious in your body: alignment, ease, breath and attention, applied to the music you already play.

Founding clients

Your work becomes a documented case study, with your say over what's shown.

With your permission, your story and your before-and-after help others decide. You also give structured feedback at the midpoint.

The guarantee

If you don't feel better, you get your money back.

Two guarantees, one after the other:

  • Not the right fit? Ask for a full refund before we start, or any time in the first 14 days, for any reason. No questions asked.
  • Doing the work, and not feeling better? We rate your comfort, enjoyment, focus and motivation at the first assessment and again at day 30. If you've come to your sessions and practiced your protocol at least half an hour a day, five days a week, and your combined score hasn't risen by at least 6 points, you get a full refund.

How to join

  1. Apply: a short form about you and your playing, and no commitment. I read every application myself.
  2. A 45–60 minute resonance call with me, to get to know each other and your playing, and see if it seems like a good fit.
  3. If it is: your invoice (or the payment plan), and we set the first assessment.

Questions

Is it online?

Yes, by video, wherever you are.

I'm in pain or injured. Is this right for me?

Yoga for Violinists is education, not medical care. If you're injured, in pain or have a health condition, check with a professional who knows your history first. Tell me on the application, and I'll tell you honestly whether it's a fit.

How many clients do you take?

Only a few at a time, so every client gets real attention.

Does applying commit me to anything?

No. Applying is how we start a conversation: a resonance call to get to know each other better and see if it seems like a good fit. Interested but not sure yet? That's a good reason to apply.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes: 6 monthly payments of $1,750 USD, by invoice, over the six months of sessions.

Can I upgrade later?

Yes. What you paid for the 21-Day Course counts toward Y4V Live or The Harmonious Violinist, and what you paid for Y4V Live counts toward The Harmonious Violinist. Write to me when you're ready.

Is this religious or spiritual?

No. It's practical and non-dogmatic, and non-religious: there's nothing to believe, only things to try. It applies the essence of true yoga practice to violinists: deeper union within yourself and with your violin, without ever pushing any belief system on you. People of all beliefs are welcome.

What currency is the price in?

US dollars. Use the currency menu beside the price for an estimate in your own currency; at checkout you'll see the exact amount in your currency before you pay.

Is it for you?

For players who want the most personal attention I can give

For serious amateurs and professionals who want their playing to feel better in their own body, and the most personal attention I can give.

If you'd like to start with a group, Y4V Live gives you feedback twice a week, at a fifth of the price.

Prefer a group?

Y4V Live

$2,000 USD founding It's a special price for the first cohort, the early adopters: $2,000 USD instead of $3,000. I'm committed to making Y4V Live the best it can be, and for that I need solid feedback and testimonials. You rate the same four dimensions at the start and the end, tell me what's working along the way, and if it helps you, share a few words about it. The founding price is my thank-you for helping make that happen.

The whole course over ten weeks with a small group: two calls with me every week and feedback on videos of your playing, then six months of monthly group calls. Starts the week of January 11, 2027.
